JRL urges UN Chief to draw attention towards HR violations in IOK

The Joint Resistance Leadership of occupied Kashmir in a letter to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said that the lack of sustained attention by the international community to human rights violations by India has emboldened its armed forces to commit even more violations in the occupied territory.

Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that India’s refusal to hold dialogue is doing unimaginable harm not only to Kashmir but to the entire south Asian region.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that the illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory are being traumatized, tortured and humiliated by the jail authorities.

In a statement in Srinagar, he said that the jails have been turned into torture centers where respect for life and human dignity stood at its lowest.
