Food Security in Pakistan: FAO DG to visit Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (APP): The Director General, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN)'s, Jose Graziano da Silva is scheduled to visit Pakistan from October 5 to 7.
During his visit, he is scheduled to meet various dignitaries to discuss future strategy for poverty reduction in South Asian Region.
Pakistan Food Security: Promotion of modern agri technologies imperative
According to press statement issued here by the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), he is scheduled to call on President of Pakistan, Chief Ministers of Provinces, Governor of Punjab, Federal Ministers for National Food Security and Research, Planning, Development and Reforms and other Federal and Punjab Governments functionaries.
The DG would hold detailed discussion on ongoing projects and technical assistance for achieving food security in Pakistan as well as future strategy for poverty reduction in the South Asia Region.

He will also visit National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) PARC and FAO Office in Pakistan, the statement added.
