Senate passed "The Marine Insurance Bill, 2017".
The Senate was informed today[Friday] that the government is taking various steps to enhance exports of the country.
Replying to a question during the questions hour, Minister for Commerce and Textile Muhammad Pervaiz Malik said that trade development authority is undertaking export promotional activities through trade exhibitions and delegations.
He said that to promote exports of the value added sectors, the government has introduced zero-rating regime for five export sectors. These include textile, leather, carpets, surgical and sports goods.
To another question, the minister said that major exports items include, Rice, Leather manufactures, Fish & Fish preparation, fruits and made up articles.
Answering a question, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said that PIA has formally started its flights to Bangkok and Najaf.
He said PIA is rationalizing its routes network from time to time and in light of that policy some loss making routes have been closed, while additional flights are introduced on viable routes.
Minister of State for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Darshan has said that the government is taking steps for the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
He was responding to a calling attention notice moved by Tahir Hussain Mashhadi regarding the increase of epidemic disease of HIV/AIDS in Pakistan.
The Minister of State said twenty-six treatment facilities, twelve prevention centres and various community centres have been established across the country where diagnostic and treatment facilities are available.
He said the federal government is also cooperating with provinces for the treatment and diagnosis of HIV/AIDS.
Senate today passed "The Marine Insurance Bill, 2017".
The Bill is aimed at regulating the business of marine insurance.
