President calls for use of modern technology to meet environmental challenge

President Dr Arif Alvi has called for joint efforts to counter natural calamities stressing every individual to play his role in this regard.
The President said there is a dire need to use modern technology to meet environment challenge as the increasing amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the major cause of damage to the natural balance.
Emphasizing for more tree plantations in country, he said trees are the only natural factory which absorbs carbon dioxide.
The President said the government has set a target of planting 10 billion trees across the country as it would help reducing environmental issues to a large extent.
He also emphasized that at individual level, everyone must come ahead to play his due role in this regard.
