France, Germany & US call for immediate ceasefire in Syria

France, Germany and the United States have called for the immediate implementation of a 30-day cease-fire in Syria.

US President Donald Trump also held telephonic conversations separately with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

French presidency's office said in a written statement today that Macron and Trump agreed to work together for the implementation of U.N. Security Council resolution to allow a cease-fire, transport of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of injured and sick.

US President Donald Trump and Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Syrian regime must be held accountable for the East Ghouta attacks and humanitarian crisis in the rebel-held enclave.

Meanwhile, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says Turkish airstrikes in the village of Jamaa have killed 17 kurdish fighters.APP/AFP
