32 T Bollard Pull Tug "Being Built For PN launched at KS&EW

KARACHI:Thirty-two tons Bollard Pull Tug being built for Pakistan Navy was launched at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works today. Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works has so far constructed twenty three tugs ranging from 10 to 40 tons Bollard Pull for its customers.
Currently, two 32-ton Bollard Pull tugs are under construction. This tug has 34 meters overall length, with displacement of 481 tons and maximum speed of 12 knots.
In his address on the occasion, Secretary Ministry of Defence Production Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry said the successful and timely delivery of number of vessels with varying sizes and capacities, including similar 32 tons Bollard Pull Tug, has made us proud and confident.
Highlighting the importance of CPEC, he said the Prime Minister has approved establishment of a new shipyard at Gwadar, which will soon be realized.
Earlier, briefing the audience about the project, Managing Director Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works, Rear Admiral Syed Hasan Nasir Shah said the project is being executed with self-sufficiency in all phases of its construction without any foreign technical assistance.APP/AFP
