Pakistan strongly hits out at India in UN Security Council

At the UN Security Council, Pakistan has expressed grave concern over selectivity and double standard in implementing resolutions on longstanding disputes like Jammu and Kashmir.

During a high-level debate on strengthening accountability and justice for serious violations of international law, Pakistan's acting Permanent Representative to the world body in New York, Amir Khan said the concepts, such as the “Responsibility to Protect ", continue to remain divisive, particularly because its application remains driven solely by political considerations.

Amir Khan said Jammu and Kashmir, is one glaring example of such brutal occupation where international law has been flouted for decades.

He said over the span of last 75 years, India has not only forcibly denied the right to self-determination to Kashmiri people but also committed gross and systematic violations of international law.

The Pakistan envoy said since August 5, 2019, India has embarked on a sinister plan to transform occupied territory from a Muslim majority state to a Hindu majority territory, violating 4th Geneva Convention and international law.
