Ten Indian Army soldiers missing in Himalayan Avalanche

NEW DELHI: Ten Indian Army soldiers went missing in an avalanche in northern Siachen Glacier while patrolling the area.
The Indian troops including 9 soldiers and one junior commissioned officer were patrolling on Siachen Glacier went missing after being hit by an avalanche.
Rescue teams are searching for them.
Siachen is the highest battle field of the world between India and Pakistan in the region of Kashmir.
Avalanches and land sliding is very common in the region during winters.
140 Pakistanis died in 2012 including 129 soldiers by an avalanche.
More than 8,000 troops have died from avalanches, frostbite, landslides, high altitude sickness and heart failure since 1984.
