NAB's two year performance report released

LAHORE - A two-year performance report of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday has been released which stated that the NAB initiated proceedings against the 62 alleged illegal housing societies along with recovering Rs2.80 billion and made various achievements.

Report stated that NAB Lahore under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal took historical measures and launched proceedings against 62 alleged illegal housing societies cases in two years.

According to the report, matters of 40 housing societies have been completed in a timely manner. According to NAB Lahore, 22 cases of alleged illegal housing societies are under trial whereas three billion worth of agreements were made with the accused in housing sector.

It further read that Director General NAB Lahore Major (R) Shahzad Saleem‘s team took strong action against corrupt elements and played a vital role in strengthening the organization.

Report stated that Rs2.8 bn were successfully recovered whereas an indirect recovery of Rs25 bn was also made possible while 24,300 victims were returned their looted funds, plots and houses.

According to the report, from October 2017 to July 2019, NAB Lahore took action against seven illegal housing societies whereas twenty four billion worth of references were filed in the Accountability Court.

Chairman NAB emphasized on the complaints of the victims right after assuming the chairmanship.
