ISLAMABAD - Hydel Power generation in Pakistan hits one of the highest level of history.
In a first, electricity generation from hydel power stations in Pakistan has crossed the 8,000-megawatt (MW) mark.
The accomplishment was achieved by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on Wednesday when its hydel stations reached their maximum capacity for power generation.
As per details released by the company, the power producer added a total of 8,158 MW of electricity to the national grid during peak hours of July 31. ------------------------------
According to the report, the maximum power production from Tarbela Hydel Power Station, Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project, and Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project contributed an additional 600 MW over their previous best.
