Opposition Parties announce nationwide protest against general elections 2018 rigging

*ISLAMABAD - Opposition parties agreed to protest across the country on August 9.*

*Opposition alliance also decided to protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on August 8.*

A meeting of the action committee was held on Friday at the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq to discuss the way forward.

Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said a countrywide protest will be held on August 9, while the united opposition parties agreed to protest outside the ECP’s head office on August 8.

The meeting also deliberated on the name for the candidates for the Leader of the House and the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Yesterday, the all parties conference decided to challenge the incoming government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

The opposition agreed rejected the election results and agreed to nominate unanimous candidates for the top posts. The candidate for the prime minister will belong to the PML-N.
