Turkey offers to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Refugees issue

ISLAMABAD (APP): Turkish Foreign Minister Mevluet Cavusoglu called on Federal Minister for SAFRON Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch and discussed matters related to bilateral relations.
The Turkish Foreign Minister praised the long standing friendship between Pakistan and Turkey.
He also appreciated the recent resolutions passed by both houses of Parliament in support of democracy in Turkey.
The Turkish Foreign Minister said both Pakistan and Turkey faced challenges like terrorism, refugees, drug trafficking and immigration.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also highlighted the challenges faced due to influx of about 3 million refugees and immigrants in Turkey.
Mevluet Cavusoglu said that he is specially here in Pakistan to acknowledge the support and solidarity shown by Pakistan for the democracy in Turkey.
The SAFRON Minister appreciated the democratic values and respect of public opinion in Turkey.
The minister briefed the Turkish Foreign Minister about the challenges faced by Pakistani economy due to large influx of Afghan refugees.
The minister said that the solution of Afghan refugees is in Afghanistan itself.
The Turkish Foreign Minister offered the role of Turkey in sorting out refugee issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary SAFRON and Chief Commissioner for Afghan Refugees.
