Indian BSF officer killed in retaliatory cross fire on LoC

SRINAGAR: Pakistan has responded back to unprovoked firing along theinternational border in occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba sector.

One Border Security Force (BSF) Head Constable RP Hazra jawan has lost hislife in during the encounter.

Indian Army on December 31 resorted to ceasefire violation along the Lineof Control (LoC) in Digwar sector of the state’s Poonch district and inNowshera sector.

India has continued a series unprovoked incidents of firing along the LoCthroughout December. Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat had reviewed theoperational preparedness of the security forces and prevailing securitysituation in the state last week.

On December 23, four Indian Army soldiers, including a Major, were killedin a response to ceasefire violation by the Indian Army on the LoC in J&K’sRajouri district.

Meanwhile, the United States suspended $255 million military aid toPakistan accusing the country of “playing double games”.
