PTI contradicts its earlier statement regarding hiring of foreign law firm

In Islamabad, Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has refuted claims that they enlisted a foreign law firm to represent their top leader in international courts regarding his detention in a high-security prison for nearly a month.

Khan, who was arrested on August 5th in Lahore, has been accused of mishandling a confidential cable from Washington, despite the Islamabad High Court granting him bail in a separate case. Initially, PTI announced the hiring of barrister Geoffrey Ronald Robertson via social media platform X but later deleted the post and disavowed the information, stating, "We have not approached any judicial forum outside Pakistan nor have any intention to do so."

The PTI has been under scrutiny since Khan's initial arrest on May 9th, resulting in widespread protests and allegations of false cases against Khan. The party emphasizes its demand for justice within the Pakistani legal system. Khan currently faces a prison trial under the Official Secrets Act.
