US top envoy Zalmay Khalilzad held important meeting with Afghan President over Taliban peace deal

ISLAMABAD - US Special Representative for Afghan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad has held meeting with Afghan president Ashraf Ghani in Kabul and briefed him on the latest round of talks with the Taliban in Doha.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s spokesman, Sediq Seddiqi, has confirmed the meeting.
He said meeting was held shortly after envoy Zalmay Khalilzad arrived from Qatar, where the ninth round of talks ended without a final agreement.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman in Qatar, Suhail Shaheen says we are on the verge of ending the invasion and reaching a peaceful solution for Afghanistan.
