PS-II bye-election: ECP issues schedule

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Bye-election on vacant seat of PS-II Shikarpur-1 of the Sindh provincial assembly will be held on October 8.
The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday announced schedule for holding of bye-election in Shikarpur to elect a member on a vacant seat of Sindh provincial assembly.
The seat fell vacant due to resignation tendered by member of provincial assembly Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh.
According to programme issued by Election Commission of Pakistan, candidates can file nomination papers with the returning officer on September 7-8, scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officers will be done on September 19 and 20 while late date for filling of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer regarding rejection and acceptance of nomination papers will be held on September 22.
Last date for deciding appeals by the tribunal is September 24 and last date for withdrawal of candidature is September 26.
The revised list of candidates will be published on the same day while polling will take place on October 8.
