Congo Virus in Pakistan: Death toll climbs

ISLAMABAD: (APP) One more patient has died of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) on Friday in Quetta.
About 84 patients have been shifted in Quetta's Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital and atleast 22 of them have been confirmed with the disease whereas three are still under treatment,a news channel reported.
One of the affected patients 55-year-old Rehmatullah was under treatment but could not recover and died.
Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital is the only centre in Balochistan to treat Congo virus where a large number of patients arrive not only from the far flung areas of the province but also from neighboring country Afghanistan.
The hospital administration has warned that eight districts of the province are vulnerable to the disease.
On the other hand, Punjab government has increased number of anti-Congo spray teams on Lahore's entrance points to prevent the disease.
