Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam gets a huge chance to break historic record

Pakistan's captain Babar Azam can break Saeed Anwar's 20-year record during the ICC World Cup 2023. The 28-year-old batsman has so far scored 19 centuries with an average of 58.16 in his career, spanning 105 innings. If Babar Azam scores two more centuries during the mega event, he will surpass Saeed Anwar's record of 20 ODI centuries for Pakistan, which is the highest number of centuries in the 50-over format for Pakistan.

Saeed Anwar had set this record by playing 244 innings between 1989 and 2003. Former captains Mohammad Yousuf, with 15 centuries in 267 innings, is third on the list, while Mohammad Hafeez, with 11 centuries in 216 innings, is fourth. Fakhar Zaman, who has played 77 innings and scored 10 centuries, holds the fifth position.

It should be noted that the Pakistani team participated in a training session at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.

After reaching India for the ICC World Cup 2023, this was Pakistan's first training session. The majority of Pakistani players participated in the session, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali. Pakistan's men's cricket team arrived in Hyderabad from Dubai to participate in the mega event. On Monday, after a long delay, India finally issued visas to the Pakistani team, ending the uncertainty surrounding Pakistan's participation in the tournament."
