Haris Rauf narrates his inspirational cricket journey, from street vendor to achieving national hero status

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf, renowned for his outstanding cricket performances, recently shared an inspiring story of his journey in a documentary titled "The Incredible Rise of Haris Rauf," released by Cricinfo.

As he prepares for the 2023 World Cup, Rauf reflected on the challenges that ignited his love for cricket and drove him to pursue his dreams.

In a heartfelt interview, Rauf revealed that financial constraints and his determination to continue his education led him to embrace tape ball cricket, a more accessible form of the sport.

Due to his father's limited income, funding his education posed a significant hurdle, compelling Rauf to take matters into his own hands. "I turned to tape ball cricket to earn money for my education because my father's income couldn't cover my fees. I even sold snacks on Sundays to supplement our income, as my mother had a dream of owning our own house," explained Rauf in ESPNcricinfo’s documentary.
