"Actions against dollar hoarders and smugglers are rapidly underway across the country. In Karachi, it has been revealed that over 50 million US dollars were concealed in homes by the Dollar Mafia.
According to a private TV report, sensitive institutions have obtained records of various banks and money changers, and lists of individuals involved in the buying and selling of foreign currencies, including American dollars, have been compiled.
Prominent Karachi businessmen, considering foreign currency as an investment, have not yet repatriated more than 50 million US dollars and other foreign currencies. Read more: Government policies against the dollar have succeeded; the rupee has strengthened further.
Individuals included in such mafia lists are said to reside in various areas of Karachi, including Lyari, Kharaadar, Meethadar, Saddar, Bath Island, Clifton, Defence, and other regions. According to sources, targeted actions have commenced on the homes of individuals included in these organized lists."
