China’s new offer to US over strained ties

China says it is willing to develop relations with the United States based on mutual respect, goodwill and sincerity.
Addressing a virtual ceremony in connection with China's national Day, Chinese ambassador to Washington Cui Tiankai said relations with the United States are facing difficulties but the two countries should lose no time in putting these on the right track.
He said a sound and stable China-US relationship is in the interests of both peoples.
