Youm-i-Ashur observed peacefully amid tight security

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Youm-i-Ashur was observed across the country with due solemnity, reverence to pay homage to supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (Razi Allah ho Ta'ala) and and his companions in Karbala.

 

Ulema and Zakireen highlighted the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and various aspects of Karbla tragedy.

 

Strict security arrangements were in place at all sensitive areas of the country, especially the routes of processions, to avert any untoward incident. Mobile phone service remained suspended in various cities.

 

Majlis-e-Sham-e-Ghariban were arranged at all Imambargahs in the cities. Processions had mourned throughout the day while all small processions joined the main one in bigger cities where people gathered at one place.

 

Eyes shed with tears and people kept beating their bodies in the pain and grief while recalling what happened to the martyred grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at Karbala on the same day. People were wearing the name of Imam Hussain (RA) on their heads and hands while observing the sorrow.

 

In Islamabad, the main procession was taken out from Imam Bargah G-6/2 and culminated peacefully at its destination after passing through traditional routes. Various other processions were also taken out from I-10/2, Nilor, Jhangi Syedan, and Sihala and culminated peacefully after passing through traditional routes.

 

 

In Rawalpindi, the main Zuljinah, Alam and Tazia processions taken out from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain Teli Mohallah and Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain and passed through their traditional routes, via Murree road, Committee chowk, Iqbal road, Fawwara chowk, Raja bazar, Jamia masjid road and culminated at Imambargah Qadeemi.

 

The main mourning procession in Karachi was taken out in the morning from Nishter Park after a Majalis that was addressed by Allama Shahanshah Hussain Naqvi.

 

 

 

After passing through its traditional route, the procession culminated in evening at Husanian Iranian, Kharadar peacefully.

 

 

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) made foolproof security arrangements on the occasion. The main mourning procession was also monitored through the close circuit television cameras.

 

In Lahore, the central Zuljinnah procession of Ashura, taken out from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate at midnight on Saturday, culminated on Sunday evening at Karbala Gamay Shah.

 

The procession passed through its traditional route Imambargah Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Lakkar Mandi, Imambargah Mehdi Shah, Mubarik Haveli, Chowk Nawab Sahab, Kucha Qazi Khan, Imambargah Moulvi Feroze Ali, Mohallah Pir Gilanian, Chohatta Mufti Baqar, Chowk Purani Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Masjid, Dabbi Bazaar, Suha Bazaar, Gumti Bazaar, Said-Mitha Bazaar, Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakiman, Oonchi Masjid and Bhatti Chowk.

 

In Multan, the main procession comprising of a large number of women and children appeared from Hira Haideri Imambargah which reached its destination while going through fixed routes.

 

In Peshawar, the main Alam and Zuljinnah procession was taken out from Imam Bargah Alamdar-e-Karbala, Kocha Jan Muhammad Khan, Qissa Khawani Bazaar.

 

After passing through its traditional routes, it terminated at its starting point in the evening. Several other processions were also taken out from other Imam Bargahs which joined the main procession.

 

 

In Quetta, the main procession of Alam, Tazia and Zuljannah was taken out from Imam-Bargah Nichari Alamdar road. The procession after passing through Toghi Road, Mission Road, Mizan Chowk, Liaqat Bazaar, Prince Road, Mecongy Road culminated at Alamdar Road peacefully.

 

In Gilgit-Baltistan Ashura processions were taken out from Imambargas in Baltistan, Hunza, Nagar, Gilgit, which after passing through traditional routes terminated at their respective destinations peacefully.

 

 

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), various Taazia, Alam and Zuljinnah processions were taken out from different Imam Bargahs at all the district headquarters of the state.

 

In Muzaffarabad, the main Taazia, Alam and Zuljinnah procession was taken out from Markazi Imam Bargah Pir Ilam Shah Bukhari this morning. The procession after passing through its traditional routes terminated at the same Imam bargah in the evening.
