President Alvi and ECP announces new finalised date for General Elections

An agreement has been reached between the President of the country and the Election Commission to hold general elections on February 8, 2024.

According to a statement issued by the President's office, a meeting took place in the Presidential Palace today, attended by the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Sikandar Sultan Raja, Attorney General for Pakistan, Mansoor Awan, and four members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the scheduling of future general elections in the country. The President of the country emphasized the importance of constituency delimitation and election-related matters from the Election Commission.

After a detailed discussion, a consensus was reached during the session to hold general elections in the country on February 8, 2024.
