Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi slams Babar Azam

Pakistan's number one ODI ranking batsman and captain Babar Azam has faced criticism from multiple former cricketers and fans across the country in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 due to his performance.

The 29-year-old player scored 216 runs with the help of three half-centuries in seven innings, but his strike rate has been extremely low. Recently, former Pakistan captain and cricketer Shahid Afridi expressed concerns about Babar Azam's abilities as a one-day opener in the current playing eleven and criticized his failure to finish matches like other star players.

Speaking on a private TV program, Afridi said that when Babar Azam is at the crease, everyone expects him to contribute 50 or 60 runs to the scoreboard.
