Pakistan's versatile cricketer, Shoaib Malik, has made a significant announcement, creating a buzz in the cricketing world. He declared his availability for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, which is set to take place in the West Indies and the United States.
In an interview with A-Sports, Shoaib Malik expressed his strong desire to contribute to Pakistan's success and secure their second T20 World Cup title in 2024. He confidently stated, "I would be delighted to bring the T20 World Cup home for Pakistan. My physical fitness is excellent, and I'm as fit as I was in my younger days. I'm ready and available whenever the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) contacts me."
It's worth noting that Shoaib Malik previously captained Pakistan in the 2007 ICC World T20 in South Africa, where the team finished as runners-up after a final match against India.
He was also part of the squad that clinched their maiden T20 World Cup title in England two years later. With an impressive record of 124 T20 International appearances, Shoaib Malik has amassed 2,435 runs, including nine half-centuries. He boasts an average of 31.2 and a formidable strike rate of 125.6.
