ISLAMABAD - Washington-based World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF) has condemned the Indian government's continued brutal repression in occupied Kashmir and refusal to reverse its unilateral decision to abrogate special status of the territory.
The forum in a statement issued in Washington, rejected the capricious and undemocratic decision of the Indian government to divide occupied Kashmir into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The statement said India's decision is a flagrant violation of India's obligations of the international law.
The WKAF said that the Indian government must immediately restore Kashmir's special status, restore political and administrative unity of the three regions of the territory and end all draconian laws under which civil liberties have been abolished and create a conducive atmosphere to enable the Kashmiri people to exercise their internationally-recognized right to self-determination.
