ISLAMABAD: Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia informed the court that there was clear difference in Hussein Nawaz’s stance before Supreme Court and his statement to the joint investment team (JIT) in Flagship Investment reference.
Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik conducted hearing on Flagship Investment reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons.
Khawaja Haris continued his cross-examining with JIT head on the ninth consecutive day.
During hearing, Wajid Zia informed the court that the JIT did not find documents, witness statement, proofs and evidence that showed the former prime minister had provided money for Flagship Investment.
He, however, stated that there was difference in two statements of Nawaz’s son Hussein Nawaz regarding the source of money for investment. The JIT did not find any documents signed by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif
as competent authority of Capital FZE Company, he said.
Zia stated that one transaction was made from the account of Capital FZE, saying that Nawaz Sharif
was the board chairman of this company at that time.
Khawaja Haris objected over the answers of JIT head and stated that the witness’s statement raised more queries. He stated that court time was being wasted with the statement of Zia.
Later, the court adjourned hearing of the Flagship Investment reference till Friday, wherein Haris would continue his cross examining on next hearing with Wajid Zia.
