2,487Mw low-cost hydel electricity to be added to national grid next year: Wapda

Chairman says WAPDA fully focused on optimal utilization of water and hydropower resources to meet requirements of water, electricity.

The government will add 2487 megawatt low-cost hydel electricity to the national grid from early to mid of the next year.

This was stated by WAPDA Chairman Muzammil Hussain in a briefing to Minister for Water Resources Syed Javed Ali Shah in Lahore.

He said completion of Neelum Jhelum, Tarbela 4th Extension and Golen Gol in a phased manner will bring additional electricity to the system.

Muzammil Hussain said WAPDA was fully focused on optimal utilization of water and hydropower resources to meet the increasing requirements of water and electricity in the country.
