In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the leaders of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration including three former Chief Ministers were put under house arrest by the occupation authorities to prevent them from holding a sit-in to protest against the proposals of J&K Delimitation Commission. Those who were placed under house detention include Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and M Y Tarigami.
The move of the occupation authorities has prompted angry reactions from political parties which said that such steps will only incentivise and facilitate violent agitations.
The spokesperson of the alliance strongly criticised the Modi government and said it is the gift from the authorities on the New Year and this is the real picture of Kashmir.
The National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah, said this is the New Year with the same police illegally locking people in their homes.
