Major Geoffrey Langlands, PM Khan teacher and former Aitchison College dean passes away at 101

*ISLMABAD - The former dean of Aitchison College and Teacher of PM Imran Khan Major Geoffrey Douglas Langlands passed away on Wednesday, January 2, at 10:15 am after a brief illness. *

*He will be remembered by hundreds of students as ‘The Major’, a British man who worked for education in Pakistan for more than half his life. *

He was born on October 21, 1917 and was 101 years old at the time of his death.

Students remember him as a soldier, teacher, gentleman, story-teller, mountaineer and humanitarian whose life was devoted in service to others, especially his adopted country Pakistan. View image on Twitter link [image: View image on Twitter] link

Major Langlands landed in India as part of the British army and then lived in the heart of Punjab. He had a long teaching career in Pakistan.

Major Langlands was responsible for the education of many big names in Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan, PTI MPA Aleem Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and a number of other high-profile personalities in the country were taught by him at Aitchison.
