Hamid Karzai proposes US Afghanistan Army coalition against Pakistan military establishment

KABUL - Former President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai did not miss the opprtunity to bash Pakistan military establishment after the controversial tweet of the US President Donald Trump.

Hamid Karzai praised US President Donald Trump’s tweet accusing Pakistan of paying the US in ‘lies and deceit’.

Karzai took to Twitter to say the US president’s tweet was “vindication that the war on terror is not in bombing Afghan villages and homes but in the sanctuaries beyond Afghanistan”.

He further welcomed the ‘clarity’ in Trump’s remarks and proposed “a joint US-regional coalition to pressurise the Pakistan military establishment to bring peace to not just Afghanistan but the entire region.”

The former Afghan president has long been vocal of alleged terrorist safe havens in Pakistan. In October last year, he claimed the United States declined Kabul’s requests to attack terrorist ‘safe havens’ in Pakistan as it is a close ally in the war on terror.

A 50-word tweet was all it took to raise alarm bells in Pakistan as US President Donald Trump fired off on the country for allegedly playing a double game in Afghanistan.

“The US has foolishly given Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies and deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!”
