LAHORE: A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench will hear a petition, challenging formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) for probing Sahiwal incident, on February 4.
The bench, headed by LHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, will hear the petition.
The petition was filed by Jalil, a brother of Sahiwal incident victim Khalil, through his counsel Barrister Ehtisham.
The petitioner requested the court to set aside the JIT, formed for investigation of the Sahiwal incident.
He submitted that inspector general of police Punjab had formed the JIT, though he did not have any authority for the
purpose.
Meanwhile, Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique also filed an identical petition seeking directions for formation of a judicial commission for inquiry of the Sahiwal incident.
