Pakistan FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi lands on an important foriegn policy visit

ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reached Sri Lanka on a two day official visit to the country.

Additional Secretary of Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and high officials from Pakistani High Commission welcomed the Foreign Minister at Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo.

During his visit the Foreign Minister will meet the Sri Lankan leadership.

The Foreign Minister will have separate meetings with his newly-appointed Sri Lankan counterpart, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

He will also talk to media and will express Pakistan's stance on regional situation and important regional affairs.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy longstanding and strong bilateral relations.

Talking to media at Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo tonight, he said Pakistan and Sri Lanka have always supported each other in diverse fields.

The Foreign Minister envisaged better opportunities to be benefitted for both the countries.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said newly elected President and Prime Minster of Sri Lanka are Pakistan's friend. He said he is here with a special letter from Prime Minister Imran Khan and President of Pakistan for the newly elected leadership of Sri Lanka.
