Pakistan FM Qureshi held important meeting with Sri Lankan President, makes an offer from Pakidtani President

Karachi - Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held important meeting with Sri Lankan President, makes an offer from Pakidtani President.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with the newly elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo on Monday.

During the meeting, the foreign minister discussed issues of mutual interest, matter pertaining to regional peace and bilateral relations.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi felicitated Rajapksa on being elected as the seventh Sri Lankan president.

On the occasion, Qureshi also handed over a letter of President Arif Alvi to the Sri Lankan president inviting him to visit Pakistan.

The foreign minister expressed hope that under the leadership of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will strengthen further.

He also appreciated the people of Sri Lanka for valiantly fighting the scourge of terrorism.

The Sri Lankan president thanked the Pakistani leadership for extending him felicitation on his election and inviting him to visit Pakistan.

Qureshi is on a two-day visit to Sri Lanka to discuss cordial relations and issues of mutual interest. On his arrival in Colombo on Monday, the foreign minister was received by Ambassador Selvaraj and other dignitaries.

Qureshi is also scheduled to meet Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as part of his visit.
