MOSCOW: Russia, Turkey and Iran have reaffirmed their determination to fight terrorism in Syria in order to ultimately eliminate all terrorist organizations including the Islamic States.
According to a statement, Russian Foreign Ministry said representatives from the three states at an international meeting held in Sochi agreed to continue joint efforts on facilitating the work of Syria's constitutional committee and promoting the political settlement in the war-torn country.
The statement said the participants also had "useful consultations" with the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Tuesday and agreed with him to hold the next round of consultations in Geneva in September.
They also called upon the international community to send more humanitarian aid to Syria and help create necessary conditions for the safe return of Syrian refugees.
