ISLAMABAD - Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced the verdict in the ISI petition against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarks case.
IHC on Thursday ordered removal of IHC Senior Judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s remarks from the verdict of a missing persons’ case.
Justice Siddiqui had written anti-agencies remark in the verdict of a missing persons’ case on July 28. The court had formed a two-member divisional bench – comprising of Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb - on the application of the ministries of defence and interior.
Advocate General Tariq Mehmood appeared before the court and informed the court, while refereeing registrar office remarks, that there was no pressure on forming judges’ benches. He further said that the IHC chief justice had refused to accept any external pressure in court’s affairs.
However, the court while directing to remove Justice Shaukat remarks regarding sensitive agencies of the country disposed off the case.
