KABUL – At least three ISIS militants were killed and five others werewounded during a clash between the Taliban and ISIS militants in easternNangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the latestclash between the two groups took place in the vicinity of Chaparhardistrict.
The source also added that three militants affiliated with the IslamicState of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were among those woundedduring the clash.
The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups including theTaliban and ISIS group have not commented regarding the report so far.
Nangarhar has been among the relatively calm provinces in East ofAfghanistan since the fall of the Taliban regime but the anti-governmentarmed militant groups have been attempting to expand their insurgencyactivities in some of the remote parts of the province during the recentyears.
Both the Taliban and militants affiliated with the Islamic State terrorgroup have presence in some districts of Nangarhar.
This comes as at least two ISIS militants were killed during a similarclash in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province nearly three months ago.
