Former Pakistani coach declares India as favourites for tomorrow's clash

Former Australian cricketer and Pakistan coach Matthew Hayden emphasized the need for India to employ a "unique" strategy when facing Pakistan's formidable pace attack in the Asia Cup 2023 fixture on Saturday. According to Hayden, Pakistan's pace trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, each employing distinct bowling approaches, will exploit the favorable conditions on Saturday.
Hayden pointed out that each of these pacers possesses a unique set of skills. He highlighted the bounce available on Kandy pitches, which Haris Rauf is expected to capitalize on. Regarding facing Shaheen Afridi, Hayden advised a "conservative" approach, recalling the memorable delivery Afridi bowled to captain Rohit Sharma. He suggested, "If it's swinging, focus on playing out those first three overs."
In contrast, Hayden suggested India adopt an aggressive instinct when dealing with Naseem Shah. He believed that even though Naseem would shape the ball, India could gain an advantage by applying pressure and employing aggressive tactics. He recommended, "Put him under pressure, and make it feel like you're ahead in the game."
