"Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir paid a visit to Bannu, where nine Pakistan Army soldiers lost their lives in a suicide attack on a military convoy. This information was reported by ARY News, quoting the military's media wing. As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the army chief received a briefing on ongoing operations and the overall security situation during his visit. General Munir also made a stop at CMH Bannu to inquire about the well-being of the soldiers injured in the suicide attack.
The COAS commended the soldiers for their unwavering resolve and high morale, stating, 'Pakistan Army will persist in its role as a shield against terrorism to protect the nation from this threat.' While conversing with officers and troops stationed in the region, COAS Munir emphasized, 'The Army, along with law enforcement agencies and the entire nation, cannot be swayed by the cowardly tactics of terrorists, who erroneously believe they can challenge the resolute determination of our soldiers and the authority of the state.'
'We have been fighting for an extended period and will continue to combat the menace of terrorism until the end. The nation pays a profound tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives, and their sacrifices will always be revered,' he added.
Upon his arrival, COAS was welcomed by Commander Peshawar Corps. It is worth noting that a suicide attack on a security forces convoy in the Janikhel area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the martyrdom of at least nine soldiers. A suicide bomber on a motorcycle detonated near the military convoy, leading to the loss of nine lives and injuries to five others. The armed forces remain resolute in their commitment to eradicating the threat of terrorism, with such sacrifices serving to strengthen their determination, according to ISPR."
