Punjab reserved seats LG elections: ECP decision

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday indefinitely postponed the local bodies elections on reserved seats in Punjab in compliance with the judgment of Lahore High Court (LHC).
A notification, issued by the poll supervisory authority, said the polls had been postponed despite receiving no written orders by the LHC, said a press release.
The notification says that the ECP orders of August 8, 2016 have been set aside by the LHC.
Therefore, the ECP holds in abeyance the notification No F4 (16) 2015 LGE (P) dated January 15, 2016 and No F-4 (16) 2015 LGE (P) Vol-III dated August 8, 2016 and further action would be taken in the light of the said order.
