Yet another terrorist attack in Pakistan, Police officer martyred

During the early hours of Sunday, a police constable lost his life in what is believed to be a terrorist attack on a checkpoint situated in Mianwali. The incident occurred at the Kundal patrolling post in Esakhel, Mianwali, located just one kilometer from the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.
Head Constable Haroon Khan, a member of the patrolling police, was tragically killed during the attack by the terrorists. An exchange of gunfire then ensued between the security forces and the suspected terrorists, resulting in injuries to two of the assailants.
Reports indicate that a group of 12 well-armed terrorists launched an assault on the checkpoint from two different directions. However, due to the swift response of the police, the attackers fled from the scene under the cover of darkness.
Additional police contingents and rescue teams were also dispatched to the Kundal area in response to the situation.
