Parliamentary leaders in NA decide not to increase total number of seats in lower house of parliament

Speaker National Assembly says bill of delimitation of constituencies will likely to be approved during coming session of National Assembly.
Parliamentary parties' leaders have unanimously decided to retain the number of National Assembly seats at the existing 272.
The meeting of parliamentary leaders was held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
Later talking to media, Speaker National Assembly said the bill of delimitation of constituencies will likely to be approved during the coming session of National Assembly.
The Speaker said extension of delimitation of constituencies will be on the basis of population.
Earlier, in his opening remarks before the meeting, the Speaker said the Election Commission has requested the parliament to consider the issue on priority basis so that general elections are not delayed on this account.
