Three Pakistan Army soldiers martyred, Seven injured in cross border attack from Afghanistan

*RAWALPINDI: Three Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and seven wounded following a cross-border attack carried out by a group of terrorists in North Waziristan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.*

A group of 60-70 terrorists carried out an attack on the team of Pakistan Army soldiers busy in border fencing near Alora spot in the North Waziristan.

Pakistan Army made an immediate response and repulsed the terrorists in retaliation which killed many of the terrorists, ISPR said.

The martyred soldiers include Lance Naik Ali, Lance Naik Nazir and another soldier Imdadullah.

“Pakistan will continue the process of border fencing despite difficulties,” ISPR said.

“Pak Army has so far fenced more than 1,000 out of 2611 kilometres long area of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border,” the statement said.

The military’s media wing urged Afghanistan government to cooperate in border fencing against the terrorists and effective steps to stop the usage of its soil against Pakistan.

Earlier on April 29, Pakistan military spokesperson, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor had detailed that border fencing on the area 1,000 kilometres long on Pakistan-Afghanistan border which would be completed if the pace of work was maintained.
