Ahsan directs NADRA, Passport depts to resolve issues of expats on urgent basis

ISLAMABAD:Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has directed Pakistan's Ambassadors to Britain and Gulf countries to play their role for expanding the scope of Visa Abolition Agreement with these countries so that Pakistanis traveling on official and diplomatic passport do not face difficulties in getting visa.
He was addressing a video conference with Pakistani ambassadors in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Britain in Islamabad.
The Minister also asked the authorities concerned to fix reasonable fees for the foreigners who travel to Pakistan.
The Ambassadors informed the Interior Minister about problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis in matters relating to passports, visas and NADRA.
The Interior Minister directed the departments of NADRA and Passport to resolve issues of Pakistanis living abroad on urgent basis and take steps for facilitating overseas Pakistanis in obtaining National Identity Cards.
He also directed to establish a passport office in Madinah Munawwara. APP/AFP
