CM Sindh constitutes committee to recover Electricity Duty from DISCOs

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has constituted a three-member committee under the supervision of provincial minister for energy to recover Electricity Duty from power distribution companies.
Presiding over a meeting regarding recovery of Electricity Duty from power distribution companies in Karachi on Friday, he directed the committee to hold a meeting in this regard with governor State Bank of Pakistan.
The meeting was informed that according to the law banks collect the Electricity Duty directly and can deposit it to the Sindh government account.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that according to the collection report of provincial government has to get 2.4 billion rupees from K-Electric in term of Electricity Duty on 2015-16.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting regarding resource mobilization of Board of Revenue.
The meeting was informed that NADRA is the consultant of E-Stamp Duty of Board of Revenue and this year 10 to 11 billion rupees have been recovered.
During the meeting, it was decided that Stamp Duty will be converted in E-Stamp Duty and this initiative will commence in next fiscal year.
Chief Minister said that E-Stamp Duty will be useful to double the recovery.
