Indian Supreme Court dismisses RAW claims over Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan

NEW DELHI - The Indian Supreme Court today dismissed a plea by a former officer of the Indian Spy Agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) to claim Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan territories.
A Bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi rejected outright the plea by former RAW officer R.K. Yadav to carve out 24 Assembly constituencies from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan areas and conduct elections there.
The court imposed a fine of 20,000 rupees on the petitioner.
