Samsung to unveil triple camera with 3D feature

*SEOUL: Samsung is reportedly considering to equip at least one model from the upcoming Galaxy S10 family with a triple-camera feature.*
According to KB Securities analyst Kim Dong-won, the demand for the company’s Galaxy S9 series has been lower than expected, speculating that state of affairs to be directly related to a relative lack of major improvements relative to the Galaxy S8 family.
Implementing a three-sensor imaging system into one or more of its 2019 products would hence be an attempt to reinvigorate consumer interest in Samsung-made Android flagships, Mr. Kim believes.
For much the same reason, the analyst asserted Samsung is surely already considering equipping its upcoming phablets with 3D cameras akin to those found on the front of Apple’s iPhone X.
Huawei captured the world’s attention with the P20 Pro recently. The handset has three cameras at the back to offer “master level” photography features to users. It features a 40-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor as well as a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. All three feature Optical Image Stabilization.
Dong-won predicts that the Galaxy S10 is also going to feature three rear-facing cameras in addition to a 3D sensor as Samsung seeks to pull out all the stops for its 10th anniversary flagship. The report doesn’t mention the technical specifications of this triple-camera system that the company is believed to have developed for the Galaxy S10.
