PCB announces awards 2020 for the Pakistani players

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the winners of PCB Awards 2020. PCB announced the nominees for all the categories on Thursday and revealed the winners today across various social media platforms. ------------------------------
As expected, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, racked up multiple awards. However, a few surprise selections were also made. Twelve award categories were announced by the PCB after careful consideration by the highly respected and distinguished cricket personalities.
Babar Azam, veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, and pacer Shaheen Afridi were included in three categories each. Whereas Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, and Naseem Shah were included in two categories each. Men’s Emerging International Cricketer
Naseem Shah’s meteoric rise in international cricket and his exceptional performances with the red ball were rewarded as he won the Men’s Emerging International Cricketer of the Year Award. Naseem took 12 wickets in five Test matches. Domestic Cricketer of the Year
Kamran Ghulam’s magnificent batting in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy earned him the award of Domestic Cricketer of the Year. Kamran has so far scored 1,129 runs at an average of 62.72, including four centuries and five fifties in 10 matches. He is currently playing in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy final for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All-rounder Aliya Riaz was awarded the Women’s Cricketer of the Year, beating the likes of Javeria Khan and Bismah Maroof to the title. Test Cricketer of the Year
Mohammad Rizwan was awarded the Test Cricketer of the Year for his contributions with the bat and excellent glove-work behind the stumps despite scoring fewer runs than Babar Azam. Rizwan scored 320 runs at an average of 43. He also had 12 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. ------------------------------
------------------------------ White-ball Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year
Babar Azam won two awards. He was awarded the White-ball Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year. Babar was recently named the all-format captain of the Pakistan team, and his record throughout the year was nothing short of magnificent. He scored 221 runs at an average of 110.5 in ODIs and scored 276 runs at an average of 55.20 in T20Is. He scored two centuries and seven half-centuries across all three formats.
