Afghanistan responds to the claims of Iran IRGC operation on Afghan soil

KABUL - Afghanistan has rejected Iranian IRGC claims of operation on Afghan soil claiming that no such operation has happened. The officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran have claimed that the security personnel have the Quds Base have rescued a kidnapped Iranian engineer who was kept in Afghanistan.

The commander of the Quds Base Gen Mohammad Marani has said an Iranian engineer, Hussain Haj Malek, was abducted by unknown gunmen on 14th December from the Balochistan province of the country.

He said the kidnappers had taken the engineer to an unknown location in Afghanistan and were demanding a ransom in exchange for his release.

Gen. Marani further added that an operation was launched after discovering the vehicle of the engineer near Nimroz town.

According to Gen. Marani, Quds forces began their special operation to release Haj Maleki on December 24 after making required arrangements with the related legal organizations.

“During the operation which ended up in the release of Haj Maleki, the Quds forces also arrested at least five people who had played a role in the abduction,” he was quoted as saying by the IFP News.
