CPEC: Government University, Educational city in Gwadar

QUETTA: Higher Education Commission of CPEC Unit on Wednesday held special consultation meeting to review the ongoing projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related to establishment of Government University Gwadar and educational city in Gwadar.
The meeting was chaired by Higher Education Commission’s Head of the CPEC unit Lt Gen (R) Mohammad Asghar here at the Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEM), while members of the Technical Review Committee, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS Dr Ahmed Farooq Bazai, Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Professor Dr Abdul Razaq Sabir, Professor of Quaid-e-Azam University Dr Zafar Nawaz and Project Director Pakistan China Economic Corridor, Director Planning Commission of Pakistan, Sajjad Ahmed Principal Secretary Governor Balochistan, Abdula Jan Secretary, Higher Education Balochistan, senior professors of universities and other government officials were also present on the occasion.
The committee discussed the employment opportunities which would be provided after completionof CPEC project. Special focus was made on provision of technical training to youth of Gwadar.
In the meeting, comprehensive consultation was conducted for construction and establishment of world class government university in Gwadar and launch of certain educational and technical training programmes and courses.
The consultation process included heads of many government departments, universities, and other institutions of Balochistan so that the people of Balochistan could benefit from the completion of CPEC.
Lt Gen (R) Mohammad Asghar, head of the CPEC unit of Higher Education Commission and chairman of the meeting said the establishment of Gwadar university in due time and duration was an important target for all of us, best teachers and faculty would be appointed on basis of merit only.
Vice Chancellor BUITEMS Dr. Ahmed Farooq Bazai said youth and students of Balochistan were not less than any of us. We have to make Baloch youth technically equipped to promote the economic rehabilitation of the local people.
Dr Ahmad Farooq Bazai earlier welcomed the meeting participants' and gave comprehensive briefing on the modern facilities available in BUITEMS University.
